Interesting ways God brings glory to himself

Story # 1
Last week our friend told us a story about how his sister took the exam to become a judge or lawyer in the judicial system here in Mali. There were 800 people applying for the 30 available positions and she was in the top 10. They were called to the President's office and each were given a car and he told them that they should work hard because Mali needs quality jurists. When the news reporters gathered around the girl's father and began to question they were surprised when he said "You will have to ask your questions in Bambara; that's all I speak."

So they asked him in Bambara "How did you help your daughter to achieve this level of success?" He responded, "I am not educated, all I could do was make sure she went to school and provide the supplies she needed. The Bible tells us that if you train up a child in the way he should go he will not depart from it. I taught her to follow Jesus and He has done the rest."

Story # 2
Friday a pastor told us about his grandchild's recent illness. The child had been very sick for quite a while and it seemed that no amount of medicine would help. In fact doctors were giving conflicting advice. Finally they took the child to the teaching hospital downtown. There they wrote several orders for him and the mother was about to go and get the necessary medicine when the attending physician entered the room. He tore up all the orders and declared, "This child only needs blood. If you give him anything else now he'll die!" Two days of transfusions later, the child was ready to start playing again.

Several days later the doctor called the pastor and asked him to please pray for him. He said "Every time I come on the scene just in time to save a child's life he is always from a Christian family. Obviously there's power in your prayers."

It's interesting that in a country that is about 1% Evamgelical Christian that 100% of the "close calls" this doctor saves are all believers.
